A Therapeutic Approach that Puts People First
PROACT-SCIPr-UK® is a therapeutic, values-based approach designed for people with a learning disability, autism and/or mental health needs. Instead of reacting to distress, this model teaches care practitioners to understand triggers, reduce avoidable stress, and build personalised environments that help people feel safe, in control, and respected.
In partnership with the Loddon Training, we’ve become a PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training centre to bring strengths-based, innovative methods into our care practices.
Our accredited PROACT-SCIPr-UK® training helps services deliver consistent, proactive care – shaped by the choices, strengths and needs of the person.
Why a Proactive Approach?
Less Crisis. More Stability. Real Outcomes.
PROACT-SCIPr-UK® builds on the belief that every person matters, and that everyone has the potential to learn and grow – with the right support. We train our care teams to look beyond labels, encouraging trust, collaboration, and shared understanding.
The approach includes:
- Understanding personal triggers and communication
- Creating personalised routines and safe environments
- Teaching alternative coping strategies
- Promoting wellbeing through the PERMA model
- Encouraging independence through positive risk-taking
- Using trauma-informed practice and multimedia tools to support people meaningfully
